Our legal policies and terms.

Privacy Policy

Akby LLC ("Akby," "we," "us," or "our")

Akby operates Review Genie, a software platform used by our business clients ("Clients") to request customer reviews from people who have visited or done business with them, by email and SMS text message. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — because it's the section carriers and regulators care about most — how our SMS program works.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers two groups:

  • Clients — businesses that use the Review Genie platform.
  • Recipients — the Client's own customers or patients, who receive a review-request email or text message because they visited or interacted with that Client's business.

Akby does not independently collect contact information from Recipients. A Recipient's name, email address, and/or phone number are provided to us by the Client, based on the Recipient's own visit or interaction with that Client.

2. Information we collect

  • From Clients: business name, contact information, billing information, and integration credentials needed to operate the platform on the Client's behalf.
  • From or about Recipients (provided by the Client): name, email address, and/or phone number, and the date of the visit or interaction that prompted the review request.
  • Automatically: standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) when anyone visits our website or the Review Genie application.

3. SMS Communications

If a Client has enabled SMS on Review Genie, and a Recipient's phone number and consent to be texted have been provided to us by that Client, we send a limited number of text messages on the Client's behalf requesting a review of their recent visit.

  • Consent: Recipients are texted because they provided their phone number to the Client and were informed, at the time of their visit or interaction with that Client, that they may receive a text message requesting a review. Akby does not add phone numbers to this program on its own.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies by Client and typically involves 1–2 messages related to a single visit or interaction.
  • Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to a message to stop receiving further text messages. You may also contact us directly (below) to opt out.
  • Help: Reply HELP to a message, or contact us at the information below, for assistance.
  • No mobile opt-in data is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers and opt-in status are used solely to operate the review-request program described here.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and improve the Review Genie platform for our Clients.
  • Send review-request emails and text messages on a Client's behalf, to that Client's own Recipients.
  • Provide Clients with reporting on the performance of their review requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who deliver messages or process data on our behalf — currently Resend (email delivery) and Telnyx (SMS delivery) — under agreements that restrict their use of that information to providing the service to us.
  • The Client, with respect to their own Recipients' data and engagement reporting.
  • Legal or safety reasons, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Akby, our Clients, or others.

6. Data retention and security

We retain Recipient contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the review-request program for the relevant Client, or until the Client or Recipient requests its removal. Sensitive contact information is encrypted at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.

7. Your rights

Recipients may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their information, or may opt out of further messages at any time (reply STOP to a text, or contact us below). Because Recipient data originates from a Client, some requests may be directed to that Client.

8. Google User Data

To operate Review Genie, a Client may connect their own Google Sheets spreadsheet as a source of customer/patient contact information for the review-request program described in this policy.

What we access. With the Client's explicit authorization (via Google's own sign-in and consent screen), we request read-only access to the specific Google Sheet the Client selects (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.readonly). We do not request access to any other Google Sheets, Google Drive files, or any other Google service or data.

How we use it. We read new rows added to the connected sheet — name, email address, and/or phone number, and a visit or interaction date — on a recurring automated schedule, and import them into Review Genie so the Client can send them a review request. We do not use this data for any purpose other than operating the review-request program on the Client's behalf, and we do not use it to develop, improve, or train any generalized AI or machine learning models.

How it's stored. The OAuth access credential (refresh token) that allows this read access is encrypted at rest. The contact information read from the sheet is stored encrypted at rest as well, under the same protections described elsewhere in this policy for any other Recipient contact information.

Sharing. We do not sell, and do not share, Google user data with third parties, except with the service providers already disclosed in Section 5 of this policy who are strictly necessary to deliver the review-request messages themselves.

Revocation. A Client can disconnect their Google Sheets integration at any time — from within Review Genie or directly from their Google Account permissions page — which immediately revokes our access.

Compliance. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
